aB SIMULATION & XESA SYSTEMS

aB Simulation are the UK & Irelands exclusive Xesa supplier With a core focus on the sales, hire, installation, maintenance and management of the class leading motion platform and flight simulator product range. This Coupled with our corporate & consumer experience in solution sales and management, Our ability to deploy a number of our core products remotely to a trailer means that for the first time in the UK the corporate/ military and consumer markets now have a single dedicated supplier of affordable motion flight simulation solutions.

Xesa History
The idea of designing a motion platform was born with FS98 and its first photo realistic scenery. It had remained an idea for several years, because it seemed very difficult to extract the dynamic data of the aircraft from FS and use it in the real-time to calculate the platform motion. But like many other sim enthusiasts we simply got bored just clicking and pulling switches on a desk, just to see a PC screen swap scenery. What was missing? "THE MOTION"

Progress & the team forms
In Nov 2003 we met FS "Guru" Maurizio Gavioli, well known as a developer of FS add-ons since the beginning of MFS history. Naturally we combined the software experience of Maurizio with our knowledge in mechanical, hydraulic and electronic design. So the puzzle was complete, five people, each taking car of a task. This combination of unique skills and shared experience has allowed Xesa Systems to achieve the best possible results.

Minimum project goals
The first step of the project was a program created by Maurizio that transmits the 6 accelerations while running FS. It also provides some other variables that are being used to create the mathematical model of the motion platform. We first tested the motion software by using an existing simulator, used for arcades, by Unomotion systems. Thanks to our friend Riccardo Pucciarini. With the successful testing over we knew the project had a great future.

The design had the following minimal pre-requisites:
2 seats/ compact size/ capable for home usage (240v single phased)/ low power consumption (less than 1 kW - continuous service, 2.2 kW peak)
